8 weeks and 6 days!

I went to the doctor's for a check up today. I'm at 31 weeks and 1 day. That means 8 weeks and 6 days to go (theoretically!). My due date is May 28th. I gained 1lb in the last 2 weeks. The baby is growing well and had a heart of 150 beats a minute today. We can hardly wait to see who this little one, who has so much energy, is. Baby is quite the little gymnast, always doing flips and kicks, especially when I am trying to rest or go to sleep!

First Cut Of The Year!

Finally! A sunny day and it got warm enough for the grass to dry. We spent the early afternoon playing outside, looking for flowers (we found a whole bunch), drawing with chalk and swinging. Later we went to Target and the grocery store with Gramma Simmons. When we got home, the grass was dry enough to cut. While Connor took a nap and Laura played with "Da-ee" (Daddy), I mowed the lawn. It sure looks nice to have a freshly cut yard.

A Party at Ellie's House

We went to to Ellie's third birthday party this afternoon. Greg and Andrea picked us up and we headed out to Snohomish for lunch and an afternoon of play time. Gramma Middendorf decided that she and Anthony had nothing going on and there was no real reason why they couldn't head over the mountains for the afternoon so, they surprised us all and showed up at the party around 2:30/3 o'clock. It was nice to see lots of the family. We haven't seen everyone since the Christmas party.

Laura found the babies and enjoyed pushing this one up and down the hall in the stroller.

Connor was fascinated with this ironing board and iron that Ellie recieved for her birthday.

He "ironed" clothes for everybody!

Ellie and Connor are friends!

Caitlin and Kelsey had Laura dancing whether she wanted to or not!

Good Thing Daddy Gave Me A Bath!

Laura found my deodorant in the swim bag while Connor and I were taking a nap. She smelled VERY fresh! Patrick gave her a bath and I made pancakes with whipped cream and strawberries for dinner. She LOVED them. At least it was easy to wipe her down afterwards!

The Last Few Days

The last few days have been nice. Patrick took Wednesday off and we had to go to a funeral for a neighbor of his parents. It was a nice funeral with lots of people. The whole church was full at our Lady of Perpetual Help. After the luncheon reception we went home and took naps. Later we went grocery shopping and I made chicken fajitas for dinner.
On Thursday, we went to Cosco and a couple of used book stores. I was looking for some books from a couple of different series that I have been reading. I didn't find any of the books I was looking for but did find a gardening book that looks like it should be really useful. I can't wait to get to work in the garden. I cleared out my vegetable boxes on the last sunny day we had but it has just been too wet and cold to do anything else. In the afternoon Connor helped me make shortcakes. After we got home from swimming in the evening, we had strawberry short cakes with lots of whipped cream and strawberries. They were delicious!
This morning we dropped off some clothes at the consignment store then stopped by SMM school to see Gramma Simmons but the teachers had a retreat day so she wasn't there. We did meet up with her and Josh for lunch after we went to Half Priced Books (I still didn't find my books). Connor was able to convince Gramma that we needed to go to the pet store after lunch. Connor and Laura love the pet store. They get so excited looking at all the different animals. Connor's favorite animals were the ferrets. Laura liked watching the dwarf hamsters that were running back and forth in the cage. She kept trying to touch it and then would squeal because she thought it was so funny.
The kids sure like when Daddy is home; especially when he has a three day weekend.

Laura likes Markers! Luckily they were washable.

At the Park! We had the whole place to ourselves. It sure was fun!
